Ontario College Graduate Certificate | 2 semesters | Online
This Ontario College Graduate certificate program has been designed to meet the needs of individuals who have already received their Early Childhood Education Diploma and wish to pursue professional specialization. The program provides Early Childhood Educators with the knowledge and techniques necessary to work in supervisory/administrative positions.
- 2 semesters
- Fully online with full-time and part-time delivery options
- Six week placement in semester 2
- Develops key skills needed for those that wish to make the jump from a front-line ECE worker to a supervisory position, including a focus on Marketing, Leadership and Staff Development.
- Related micro-credentials in ECE studies include: ECE Advocacy and Leadership (ECEL) and ECE Communication and Community Engagement (ECEC). These micro-credentials can be combined as a pathway to the full certificate.
Applicants must be graduates of a diploma, advanced diploma, apprenticeship, or degree program in Early Childhood Education from an Ontario College or equivalent.
Applicant must possess five years of work experience in a related field (or combination of education and work experience) as judged by the College to be equivalent. Applicants must submit a resume detailing their related experience and a cover letter outlining their competencies and preparedness for the program (any and all post-secondary transcripts must still be submitted).
It is advised students have one year post graduation work experience, though students can begin directly upon graduation from an ECE Diploma.

Graduates of this graduate certificate program will be positioned to pursue careers in supervisory and administrative roles in a range of early years and child care settings, including centre-based and homebased child care, child and family programs (e.g., EarlyON child and family centres and children’s services (e.g., supports for children with special needs, children’s mental health services and early intervention programs).
