Academic and Career Entrance Program (ACEP)

Cambrian College’s ACE (Academic & Career Entrance) program gives you the skills you need to enter a college program, apprenticeship, or to improve your job prospects. It is recognized by all colleges in Ontario and by many employers who require Grade 12* as a requirement from potential employees. This program is the first step on a pathway to success!

Eligibility

This program is geared to students who:

• have not completed a grade 12 diploma
• have completed a grade 12 diploma but need a skills refresher
• have completed a grade 12 diploma but require specific subject prerequisites to enter a college program

Future Opportunities

• post-secondary studies
• skills training or apprenticeship programs
• entry into the job market

Important Note:

ACEP is not the same as the GED. The ACE program provides you with an opportunity to brush up or learn the skills you need to be successful in college or the workforce. The GED is a test which provides individuals with an opportunity to demonstrate that they already have high-school level knowledge and skills.

This program is offered free of charge.

Please note that you may be required to complete Pre-ACE courses in English or Math in order to complete the ACE level courses.  Students will complete an intake assessment to determine correct course placement. 

Course Delivery

All courses are available all year long through our Continuous Intake model. All courses are available via our online Learning Management System (Moodle), in class or a combination of both.
