WES 1251   Ethics   Credits: 3

In this course, students will be introduced to the concept of ethics, a branch of philosophy that examines the right and wrong of certain actions, conduct and behaviour. It is also an examination of good and bad ends, goals or purpose of existence. In this course, emphasis is placed on the Social Work Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, as well as on personal exploration of one's own ethical system as it pertains to current social issues and the field of Social Work. Since research shows that attendance in class has a direct positive impact on student success, attendance in all classes is expected.
