USP 2141   Musculoskeletal Sonography   Credits: 3

In this course, students will apply the skills needed for musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations. Students will examine relevant anatomy and pathology, sonographic appearance, scanning techniques and protocols, as well as the images necessary for diagnosis of the shoulder, elbow, hand/wrist, knee and foot/ankle. In a lab setting, students will learn to recognize normal sonographic findings to perform the technical analysis of sonographic data and to form a technical impression for physician interpretation, utilizing knowledge of structures and conditions. This is a core course in the Diagnositic Medical Sonography Program.
