USP 1106   Principles of Sonographic Physics I   Credits: 4

In this course, students will learn physical principles of ultrasound including acoustic waves, terminology, Decibel , acoustic impedance , attenuation , image effects , receiver functions , beam formation, artifacts, pulse echo instrumentation and real time systems. Mathematics( Basic mathematical calculations and unit conversions ) • Acoustic Waves • Ultrasound sound beam characteristics • • Pre and Post Processing This is a core course for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
