USP 1011   Clinical Practicum III   Credits: 26

In this course, students will build on the knowledge of clinical competencies demonstrated in previous semesters. The student will gain practice in vascular studies of the head and neck, neonatal heads(if applicable), musculoskeletal sonography as well as interventional procedures. Students will evaluate anatomy and images to determine if additional images are needed. Diagnostic quality of images will be assessed, with appropriate remedial action taken if necessary. Emphasis is placed on development of critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students will interact professionally with all demographic groups and members of the health care team. The student will be provided with the opportunity to strengthen competencies and demonstrate the independent functioning required of an entry-to-practice sonographer.
