PFP 3010   Criminal And Civil Law   Credits: 3

In this course, students will be introduced to key Canadian legal concepts relating to both criminal and civil law. The focus is on locating and interpreting these two forms of law. The elements needed to establish criminal or civil liability will be examined. Students will also study the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and understand its application in criminal law and influence in civil law. In the practical component, students will be introduced to the benefits of discipline and the use of proper radio protocols for police investigations.
