PEG 1231   Power Plant Operations II   Credits: 11

In this course, students will acquire additional experience operating and maintaining power plant equipment. On an assigned rotating basis, students will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment situated in the Power Plant Training Facility i.e.: steam generators, deaerator, water softeners, air compression system, steam turbine electric generator, heating systems, vapour compression refrigeration system, cooling tower, and associated auxiliary equipment. Emphasis will be placed on maintenance procedures and individual operations. Formalized assignments will be performed in the Training Facility environment using applicable equipment and materials. In this semester, students will also attend a workshop within the Instrumentation lab.
