MUS 3200   Theory V   Credits: 3

In this course, students will study all forms of modulation including the use of pivot chords, abrupt modulation, enharmonic modulation and tonicization. This course also examines phrase structure (periodic structure, sentence structure); short forms (binary, ternary, rounded binary) and longer forms (sonata, minuet, rondo). Sight singing, keyboard harmony and ear training will serve to reinforce the concepts taught.
