MUS 2412   Conducting II   Credits: 2

In this course, students will build on basic conducting techniques covered in MUS 2312, including more complex beat patterns, cut-offs, cuing and dynamics. Students will also be exposed to a variety of orchestral scores in order to better understand basic concepts of orchestration, mainly focusing on the abilities of the orchestral instrument families. There will also be a focus on historical research into several selected orchestral works, and opportunities to conduct peers in an ensemble situation.
