MUS 2351   Music Pedagogy II   Credits: 2

In this course, students will undertake a more in depth examination of the teaching principles, skills, and materials required for professional competence in teaching music. The first half of the course examines pedagogical principles common to all disciplines; the second half is taught in seminar groups, and focuses on instrument-specific pedagogical techniques. Students will also observe lessons given by experienced professional teachers, and document these observations in a pedagogy journal to be graded at the end of the semester. This course is a continuation of MUS2311.
