MUS 2312   Conducting I   Credits: 2

In this course, students will learn basic conducting technique through an exploration of the connections between physical movement and musical leadership. Course topics include discussions about the role of the conductor as both leader and servant to the music and the ensemble, as well as an overview of basic beat patterns, use of the baton, expressive gestures and basic orchestration.
