MUS 1216   Guitar Class   Credits: 2

In this course, students will learn basic classical guitar and folk-oriented strumming techniques in addition to developing a working knowledge of guitar history from the fifteenth-century to present day. Asynchronous supplemental material for this course will be delivered virtually online through video presentations of the weekly guitar lessons, fingerboard gymnastics/micro movement exercises, video play-along songs, and history segments. Additional activities outside of these video presentation include weekly guitar history discussion boards, guitar forums for student-student video performance feedback, and music fundamentals independent research quizzes. This course is intended for absolute beginners and those who have some experience and/or background in classical and other styles of guitar playing. A nylon-string classical/folk guitar is required.
