In this course, students will be able to identify the many compositional schools found in twentieth century musical literature. They will demonstrate knowledge of the transition from Romanticism to the Modern era, as well as such important stylistic trends as Impressionism, Serialism, Nationalist Schools, Neo-Classicism, Minimalism, Musique Concrete, and Aleatoric music.
