MRT 2344   Radiographic Procedures III   Credits: 5

In this course, students will describe the radiographer's role in imaging different demographic groups, specifically pediatric, geriatric and obese patients. Concepts of radiographic surveys will be discussed. Students will examine cardiovascular imaging with an emphasis on interventional procedures. Students will discuss the purpose and procedure for bone mineral densitometry. Radiographic imaging procedures of the reproductive system, including mammography will be presented. Adaptive radiographic techniques required for trauma patients and patients with cognitive impairments will be introduced. Procedure and processes for mobile and operative radiography will be presented with an emphasis on sterile technique and infection control.
