MRT 2340   Health Legis. & Professional Pract   Credits: 3

In this course, students will be presented with information on current legislation that affects the Medical Radiation Technologists' workplace. Students will examine topics relating to health care, patients' rights, professional behaviour and professional associations. Effective communication will be analyzed and practiced. The process of managing interpersonal conflict will be presented and practiced. Problem-based learning theories will introduce students to methods that effect change within the evolving healthcare system. Expanding on the use of reflective practice to promote critical thinking skills within the medical imaging profession will be discussed.
