MRT 1241   Intro to Health Research   Credits: 3

In this course, students will gain awareness of the principles and methods of health research. The benefits of evidence based practice will be discussed and emphasized. Students will focus on quantitative methods of research with reference made to qualitative research. The ethical issues surrounding health research will be discussed. Students will then work independently and utilize skills acquired to propose and refine a technical report on a topic relating to diagnostic imaging or the Canadian health care system. Students will create a presentation which depicts their final report for presentation to the class. Learners are also encouraged to submit their finished work for publication or presentation to the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.
