MRT 1120   Imaging Principles and Concepts I   Credits: 3

In this course, students will analyze and evaluate the effect of technical factors on image formation and the quality of the radiographic image. Topics include exposure to the image receptor, image contrast, detail/spatial resolution and distortion. The effects of exposure factors on image quality will be discussed. The types of image receptors used in diagnostic radiography will be introduced. The process of radiographic image formation will be described. Criteria for appropriate technical selection wil be presented. Image evaluation methods will be identified and practiced.
