MRT 1100   Medical Radiation Lab Practice I   Credits: 2

In this course, students will be oriented to radiation protection principles and all laboratory safety protocols and procedures. Proper radiographic equipment manipulation, technical factor settings and professional behaviours will be demonstrated both in lab practice and in simulated radiographic procedure testing. Using accessory equipment and positioning mannequins, students will simulate clinical experience for selected radiographic procedures. Technical experiments, reinforcing physics and imaging concepts, will be performed and analyzed by the learner. All students will participate in scenario testing of upper and lower extremity procedures.
