HSC 1236   Basic Nursing Skills II   Credits: 3

In this course, students will build on theory from HSC 1136. Students will overview basic health problems that individuals with developmental and physical disabilities may experience. Principles of health maintenance will be emphasized to enable students to assist the clients in activities of daily living. Students will become familiar with the legalities and principles of medication administration with emphasis on commonly administered medications. Skills related to various body systems will be examined and discussed. This course will have both theoretical and practical components and will assist students in developing skills for field placement.
