HSC 1136   Basic Nursing Skills   Credits: 3

In this course, students will gain an understanding of the concepts of health and well being. Principles and techniques of basic nursing care will be discussed, demonstrated, and practiced, which will enable students to assist the developmentally disabled individual in his/her activities of daily living and prepare students for the first field placement. Skills related to various body systems will be examined and discussed. This course will have both theoretical and practical components. The theoretical content will serve as a reference for program planning in DSW1117.
