HRI 1002   Global Human Resources Management   Credits: 4

In this course, students will explore the nature and importance of global human resources management and study related theories and practices in international and cross cultural contexts. Students will be introduced to the management of human resources at home and abroad as they relate to the expansion of international trade and the growth of multinational enterprises (MNEs). Students will consider human resource management practices in the context of globalization, including managing overseas subsidiaries, international joint ventures, international mergers and acquisitions and the multinational enterprise itself. Survey topics will include introductions to international job analysis processes, global recruitment and staffing, multi-country compensation management, international labour relations, and performance management, career development and occupational health and safety, for multi-national employees.
