HEA 1022   Canadian Health Care   Credits: 3

In this course, students will focus on the organization and administration of the health care delivery system in Canada. Population Health principles will be presented and compared. The role of various regulated and non-regulated health care professionals will be presented. The principles of interprofessional practice and the importance of a collaborative, team-based approach to enhance patient care and overall job satisfaction will be discussed. Students will examine the role of ethics in health care with a focus on professionalism and professional ethical boundaries. Future delivery trends in Canadian health care will be introduced and discussed.
