GEO 3611   Mineral Economics & Project Mgmt.   Credits: 5

In this course, students will gain an understanding of basic supply and demand relationships, world trade in minerals, end use of minerals, and price behaviour of metals and minerals. Students will examine the economics of scale and mining technologies through feasibility case studies of mining ventures. They will perform mining property valuations on different types and grades of ore deposits. A second portion of the course will utilize all skills learned throughout the course in an economic valuation of a mining project.
