ENV 1014   Environmental Impact Assessment   Credits: 3

In this course, students will develop an understanding of the environmental assessment process as a key tool of federal and provincial legislation. Case studies provide examples of practical EA applications. Students will examine Environmental Site Assessment Phases I, II, and III for contaminated sites to be able to assist with project planning, gathering local knowledge, collecting and interpreting data, and preparing reports. The students will thus obtain a practical knowledge of the objectives and procedures employed in a variety of environmental assessment processes.
