ELN 2419   Power Electronics II   Credits: 4

In this course, students will be introduced to a variety of semi-conductor devices that are utilized in Power Electronics. They will be able to describe the principles of half-wave and full-wave rectification with focus on three phase circuits. They will also build on what was taught in Power Electronics I reinforcing the fundamental principles of Power Electronics. The students will be introduced to various devices including the SCR, TRIAC, FET's, Op Amp's,Optical Sensors, and IGBT's. Students are expected to describe, and demonstrate the operation of the semiconductor devices in a operating circuit.
