ELC 1226   Digital Electronics Theory   Credits: 3

In this course, students will be introduced to basic digital techniques and will become familiar with logic devices. They will describe logic circuits and utilize truth tables to predict circuit outputs based on sequential control inputs. Students will also transition from ladder logic relay circuits to solid-state logic circuits. They will become proficient at writing code for Siemens Logo smart relays for use in control applications. Finally, students will cover combination logic, binary, decimal and hexadecimal numbering systems as well as Boolean logic.
