ELC 1011   Prints and Electrical Code III   Credits: 3

In this course, students will will be introduced to electricity and its application for the construction of a new commercial building application. To enhance the learning, students will be involved in a project that they are required to assume the role of the Electrical Contractor familiarizing themselves with the prints, responsibilities, and problem solving for successfully completing the job to meet the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Canadian Building Code requirements and other statues that may exist will also be discussed. Topics to be focused on will include a electrical service, low voltage circuits, fire alarm systems, cooling systems, overcurrent protection, and short circuit calculations.
