DSW 2330   Positive Behav Supports III   Credits: 3

In this course, students will develop a positive systems approach to teach and assess both school aged children and adults with varying disabilities. Positive alternatives to behavior change will be explored and examined. Building on the skill sets obtained during the previous semesters, students will be expected to utilize inclusive language, ABA terminology, concepts and program writing, while maintaining a high regard for ethical professional practices and the maintenance of individual rights of citizenship. These are critical components to providing contemporary programs and services. Students will complete an ABA on-line training course; exploring the use of ABA and best practices, errorless teaching and prompting, methods to increase student engagement, teaching methodologies and application, decreasing problem behavior and increasing classroom participation.
