CET 1000   Enterprise Security   Credits: 4

In this course, students will learn how to secure the management, control and data plane of enterprise networks. Specifically, students learn how to recognize and mitigate common network attacks such as malware, worms, access attacks, and denial of service (DoS) attacks. Students will learn how to harden network devices, secure management access, implement a secure firewall network design, implement Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) monitoring, and secure the LAN and endpoints. Students will also learn how to protect data as it travels over insecure networks by configuring site-to-site IPsec/GRE Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and IPsec/SSL remote access VPNs. Hands-on labs will be completed using Cisco IOS routers and the Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) devices to reinforce the topics.
