BIO 1005   Radiographic Skeletal Anatomy   Credits: 2

In this course, students will identify the gross and relational anatomy of the appendicular and axial skeleton. Bony structure, formation, composition, classification, function and the effects of aging on the skeletal system will be discussed. Terminology specific to radiographic identification of bony structures will be presented. Normal radiographic bone and joint appearances will be compared with common pathological findings. The physiological stages and the radiographic presentation of bone healing will be described. Radiographic appearance of metabolic and traumatic bone pathology will be introduced.
