ART 1016   Art and Design Project I   Credits: 5

In this course, students will engage in discussions and lectures related to the preliminary process and development of a suite of work which will be presented in public exhibition at the end of the school year. The initial stages will involve concepting and documenting ideas and choosing or refining the media stream(s) they wish to engage, with a view to developing concrete plans and approaches, so that the student may be matched with a suitable mentor to assist in the development of their work process and assessment of all aspects of their creative development. While there will be much hands on work, students will be expected to clearly articulate, assess, and discuss their developing projects in relation to concept, narrative, material processes, et cetera, so as to determine their goals, and to keep them on track to successfully complete their planned work cycle in time for their graduate exhibition.
